People can change

These pictures of a magnificent snow leopard from Dublin Zoo are here as they remind me of something Roger Steare, the Corporate Philosopher, said on a radio interview.

Dr Steare works with corporations to assist them in coming into greater integrity, into values-based business.

He says that people can change, with training in and awareness of values.

During the interview he said something to the effect that it isn’t true that a leopard can’t change its spots or that you can’t teach a dog new tricks.

This concurs with the  contemporary understanding of neuroplasticity.

From Wikipedia:

“Neuroplasticity, also known as brain plasticity, refers to changes in neural pathways and synapses which are due to changes in behavior, environment and neural processes, as well as changes resulting from bodily injury.

Neuroplasticity has replaced the formerly-held position that the brain is a physiologically static organ, and explores how – and in which ways – the brain changes throughout life.~

This inspiring video shows how pathways are created in the brain.

Every time I make a choice to honor my own integrity, this develops and strengthens my integrity muscles and “neurons.”
